We produce permanent experiences.

We started the way the best things do — with a simple idea and a website. In 2021, our founder Oz launched Tattoo Popups out of a Los Angeles art scene that was already home. Emerald, our Creative Director, was finishing her apprenticeship at the time, and the question that started everything was simple: why doesn't this exist at events? Live tattooing, done properly, could be one of the most memorable things at any event. So we built it. The right people found us. We grew from there.

The system behind the moment.

Five years in, what we've built is a system, not a service. Event-trained artists, custom flash designed with you, a four-person crew that handles check-in, sanitation, waivers, and the line. Every artist we work with is licensed, current on Bloodborne Pathogen training, and rehearsed on how to read a room — who to tattoo, who to politely turn away. The work is precise. The setup is considered. The guests leave with something permanent and the event runs without a wrinkle. That's the whole point. It should look like the night, and feel like the night, and never look like a production.

The Origin

It started with a question.

In 2021, Oz launched Tattoo Popups with a Squarespace site and a Rolodex of LA artists. Emerald — finishing her apprenticeship at the time — asked the only question that mattered: why isn't this at every event? Live tattooing done right was already the most memorable thing at any gathering. It just didn't have a system yet.

So we built the system. Custom flash with the host. A four-person crew that handled the rest. The first events were small — a backyard wedding, a brand launch, a single booth at a festival. The right clients found us. We grew from there.

Five years later, we've tattooed at the Playboy Halloween party, the 72andSunny holiday party, HarperCollins launches, Honey Birdette dinners, Red Bull residencies, and a few hundred private celebrations we'll never post about. Same system. Same crew model. Better every time.

Who We Are

Two people. One studio. A system that scales.

Oz Seyrek — Founder & Operations. The one on the call. The one with the answer. Came up through LA's agency and live-events world before starting Tattoo Popups. Handles sales, logistics, crew scheduling, permits, and the question you forgot to ask.

Emerald "Emma" Padgett — Creative Director & Lead Artist. Trained in LA, apprenticed under private mentors, and has inked in studios from Los Angeles to New York. Designs the flash, leads the artists, and sets the visual standard for everything we ship. The work looks like the work because of her.

How We Work

The 4-person crew. Every event. No exceptions.

We don't send solo artists to events. It's not how we work. Every activation runs with a four-person crew — the model we built to make live tattooing safe, fast, and actually enjoyable for the guest. This isn't a trademarked pillar. It's just how the system works.

Tattoo Artist

Licensed, Bloodborne Pathogen certified, current on every state requirement, and event-trained. They do one thing — tattoo. No cleaning, no check-ins, no line management. Just precise work, fast.

Tattoo Assistant

Preps the skin, places the stencils, sterilizes the station between guests, and walks each person through aftercare. Station turnarounds stay under 2 minutes — the line keeps moving without anyone feeling rushed.

Check-In Host

Manages the iPad waivers, walks guests through the flash sheet, and holds the line. RBS-trained to monitor the room and quietly turn away anyone who shouldn't be tattooed that night. Discreet, but firm.

Event Coordinator

Your single point of contact. Handles load-in, health-department sign-offs, COI, and the hundred small things that would otherwise fall to your planner. You don't manage us. We manage the night.

The Studios

El Segundo, California. Where the work lives.

Our HQ is a working studio in El Segundo — ten minutes from LAX, easy in from anywhere in LA. It's where our artists design flash between events, where custom artwork gets drawn, where crew briefings happen before load-in, and where the system actually lives.

It's not a storefront. It's not a shop you walk into. It's the back of house — the place that makes the front of house work. By appointment only, mostly for crew, and occasionally for the people who already know us.
